Fundraising

We couldn’t continue our vital work without people like you supporting us – whether you’re a seasoned fundraiser or you’re thinking about doing your first ever event for us, you’ll find all the information you need on these pages.
Once you’ve decided on your event, then you’ll need to spread the word. Set up your own dedicated Fundraising Page with one of our fundraising partners below and watch the money roll in. Use Facebook and Twitter to tell your friends all about it.
Fundraising Ideas
Some of our most successful fundraising events have been by people who find something they enjoy doing and then turn it into a fundraising event. After all, FUNdraising should be FUN!
Sporting events & sponsorship
Do something physical on behalf of a child who struggles with extreme muscle weakness and fatigue every day. Scott (12 years old) climbed the 3 Peaks in 24 hours to support his friend with Barth syndrome and raised over £1000. Patricia, aunt of a boy with Barth syndrome completed the London Marathon and whilst she vowed never to do it again as she crossed the finish line, a week later she was already signed up for her next one. Josh and Tom both crossed the length of Britain on a bike. Terri regularly organises tennis tournaments. These are just some of the examples of some of our Sporting Heroes and they have raised awareness and much needed funds for us.
A piece of cake!
If sports are not really your thing, then how about organising a coffee morning and cake sale? Or a book sale? A wine tasting? Or a dinner party for your special guests?
Party time
How about a fashion show, a quiz evening (we can even supply you with a quiz) or a games evening?
Take a look at our Top Fundraising Ideas.
Matching schemes
Does your employer offer a matching scheme? Lots of companies will support their employees in their fundraising efforts, often doubling the amount raised for the charity.
Stay safe and legal
Please contact us if you would like a copy of our Fundraising and/or Catering Guidelines to help you when planning your event. They are easy to read and will help you avoid some common pitfalls as well as protect your good name and ours.
How we can help you
We can supply you with posters, fliers, brochures, sponsorship forms and charity t-shirts - everything you need to advertise your event.
We can put you in touch with one of our friendly volunteers who has successfully done an event like the one you plan to do and can help you with ideas and advice.
Please contact us for further information and thank you for making a real difference in the lives of our children.
